Misr Italia Real Estate Company has partnered with local and international organizations to align with the climate change agenda, in line with COP27.
The leading development company signed the announcement of the “Sustainable Communities in Egypt” initiative under the United Nations Global Compact Network Egypt, alongside other prominent players in the field. They also signed a memorandum of understanding with Schneider Electric and an agreement with Future Clean Energy for the latest green solutions.
Misr Italia Real Estate Company has unveiled the steps it is taking through its diverse projects. The company prioritizes quality through strong partnerships that help deliver comprehensive projects that take into account sustainability measures towards green transformation.
Mohamed Hani Al Assal, CEO and Managing Director of the company, said, “Focusing on implementing constructive ideas was one of the key axes that the conference agenda focused on, which is in line with our fundamental principle. World GBC has issued a report stating that the real estate development sector is responsible for about 40% of global carbon emissions, and as a private sector, we must take proactive steps to reduce its impact on the planet and its resources. Therefore, we signed the United Nations Global Compact during the first week of the conference, which promises to commit to sustainability measures in all projects.”
The company signed the announcement of the United Nations Global Compact Network Egypt (UNGCNE) initiative “Sustainable Communities in Egypt” during the first week of COP27, with the aim of building a better life and accelerating climate ambitions. They promised to collaborate and exchange best practices with players in the construction and real estate development industry to ensure a better life on planet Earth.
Al Assal continued, “We are pleased to be part of this initiative, which aims to coordinate the efforts of initiative members to address challenges that hinder industry growth and provide best practices to achieve sustainability and reshape the industry to preserve the environment.”
Italian architect Stefano Boeri showcased his presence with Misr Italia Real Estate Company and the latest technologies used in the vertical forest project in the New Administrative Capital, emphasizing the importance of partnership with Misr Italia Real Estate in fighting pollution by absorbing about 7 tons of carbon dioxide annually and producing 8 tons of oxygen.

Misr Italia Real Estate signed a memorandum of understanding with Schneider Electric, where the latter will utilize its expertise in designing and implementing smart city concepts through the EcoStruxure platform, which enables comprehensive management of all infrastructure components, including surveillance cameras, security centers, control and command centers, energy, heating, air conditioning, and water.
Al Assal added, “We are also proud to have signed another partnership with Future Clean Energy, which will invest 8 million Egyptian pounds in installing solar panels on the roofs of 3 commercial centers, with a capacity of 400 kilowatts of solar energy, to produce renewable energy and reduce consumption expenses by up to 20%.”
