Adventurer in Sustainability Takes on Challenge to Cross 7 Emirates on e-Bike with No Charging Stops

TERRA TECH Ltd., a mobility startup based in the UAE, recently issued a challenge to Ali Abdo, an adventurer, traveler, and Guinness World Records holder. The challenge involved the last leg of his ‘Ride to COP28,’ where he traversed all seven emirates of the UAE on Terra’s electric motorbike without recharging. The goal was to spotlight Terra’s sustainable transportation solutions, particularly its battery-swapping concept, in the lead-up to COP28.

Abdo accepted the challenge, embarking on the journey using Terra’s electric motorbike and experiencing its modern battery-swapping solutions. The ride commenced in Abu Dhabi on November 25th and concluded at Expo City Dubai on the first day of COP28, emphasizing the durability of the motorbike and the feasibility of battery swapping for emission-free rides.

Terra is a trailblazer in electric vehicle technology, introducing the region’s first battery-swapping and recharging platform, coupled with a range of electric vehicles. This allows riders to seamlessly exchange batteries at Terra’s extensive network of swapping stations, optimizing last-mile delivery and supporting environmental sustainability.

Ali Abdo, a sustainability ambassador and environmental activist in the MENA region, holds various world records, including the ‘World’s longest journey on an electric motorcycle’ for his ‘Ride to COP27.’ He embarked on the Ride to COP28 on October 1st, passing through multiple countries en route to the conference in the UAE.

Husam Zammar, Founder and Managing Director of Terra, expressed pleasure in Abdo accepting the challenge, aiming to showcase the endurance of their electric motorbikes and battery-swapping concepts. The goal is to build trust in renewable transport methods for faster adoption.

Ali Abdo shared his positive experience with the Terra electric bike, highlighting its remarkable performance throughout the journey without the need for recharging. His journey aligns with the ‘The Ride to 2030’ initiative, combining electric bike travel with awareness-raising activities for sustainable development goals in the MENA region.
