Galala University and Sustainability
El Galala University is known for its outstanding contributions to the field of sustainability, which can be seen in the curricula taught to students and in the special sustainability events in which it plays an active role.
So, it was a great chance to meet Prof. Mohamed El Shinawi, and we were honored to ask him a few questions.
What sustainability practices does El Galala University undertake?
We take pride in being El Galala University, one of the smart universities and one of the private universities that play a significant role in sustainability, the United Nations’ SDGs, and achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030.
It’s not just in words; we are also involved in various projects, especially those related to sustainability, such as projects in architecture, the environment, biotechnology, and biodiversity.
Additionally, we are proud of our special programs aimed at raising awareness among our students about sustainability. One of our university requirements is climate change, ensuring that all students, regardless of their background, engage with these curricula. All of these efforts contribute to spreading awareness among our university students about sustainability, climate change, and the global challenges we face.
