From October 8th to 12th, 2023, Riyadh will be the hub for discussions, solutions, and calls for action ahead of COP28, scheduled for December in the UAE.

Four Key Focus Areas: MENA Climate Week 2023 will center around four major systems-based tracks, each crucial in addressing climate change and contributing to the global stocktake:

  1. Energy Systems and Industry: Discussing sustainable energy solutions and industrial practices.
  2. Cities, Urban and Rural Settlements, Infrastructure, and Transport: Exploring how to create more sustainable and resilient communities.
  3. Land, Ocean, Food, and Water: Addressing the challenges related to land use, oceans, agriculture, and water conservation.
  4. Societies, Health, Livelihoods, and Economies: Examining the impacts of climate change on societies, health, livelihoods, and economies and identifying solutions.

Global and Regional Partners: MENA Climate Week 2023 is a collaborative effort with the support of global and regional partners. These include organizations such as the UN Development Programme, UN Environment Programme, UN Climate Change, World Bank Group, Islamic Development Bank, IRENA, ESCWA, and the League of Arab States.
